YAHSHUA SPEAKING IN THESE LAST DAYS

Shalom In Yahshua and welcome once again to part two of our teaching on Yahshua (in the context of Hebrews chapter 1:1-3).

A Review:

In our first study we shared that:
1. YHWH is the source and author of Salvation
2. He spake to OUR spiritual fathers by the prophets; and this, in many ways and times, through Messiah.
3. That the 'last days' began at the time that the book of Hebrews was written.
4.  Point #3 (above) was shown true by the prophecy given in Gen.1 regarding the 6 literal days of Creation.

The points above are made simply as a review. If you've not read our previous post we invite you to do so before moving into this study.

We now wish to develop on several thoughts presented in Heb.1:2 namely:

1. The significance of Yahshua speaking in these last days.
2. Yahshua's appointment as "heir of ALL THINGS" (emphasis mine)
3. Why was He conferred with such Infinite possession? and
4. When did this conferment of such limitless dominion take place?
5. Why is such matters important for us today?

A.) The significance of Yahshua's speaking in these last days:

From the earliest times YHWH spake with mankind. Directly as given in (Gen.2:16). And then through patriarchs and prophets. But it was Yashshua Messiah in all communications; speaking to the souls of men. (1Pe.1:10,11) (1Tim.2:5) but the heart of man became darkened (Rom.1:21).  The deeper the darkness, the more difficult for them to understand divine things. (1Cor.2:14) YHWH continued to send to His chosen people and then His chosen nation Israel; prophets, teachers, judges, deliverers, kings (as they had chosen) and in most cases they chose not to listen and heed the voice of entreaty, the voice of  instruction, the voice of warning, the voice of love. For they "....  beat one, and killed another, and stoned another." (Matt.21:35) Patiently our Abba (Father) bore with the perversity of men. And at last He said "But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son. Love hopeth ALL THINGS! (Matt.21:37; 1Cor.13:7) And what is the significance of Yahshua speaking in these last days?

And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead." (Lk.16:31) Since we know that it was Messiah who was speaking directly through the ancient prophets, we understand that if we do not listen, hearken, and obey to what the ancient prophets  taught than; (like the religious leaders of Yahshua's day) we will not benefit from any further teaching which Yahshua Himself will give. So our first point in this section deals with listening to, and obeying what Yahshua Himself has taught us in the Torah, Prophets, and Writings. (aka OT)

This I summit is NOT going back to a 'works' or 'under the law' mentality. If Messiah (Chirst) was speaking to our fathers by the mouth of the prophets, it follows that Salvation was spoken by the ancient prophets by Him (Heb.4:2) For, the Gospel brings Salvation; because the Gospel is Yahshua (Acts 4:12; Heb.5:9) who IS SALVATION. Furthermore, the Scriptures state, " Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord [is], there [is] liberty. (2Cor.3:17) Therefore, since where the Ruach (Spirit) of the Lord is, there is liberty; and we know that it was Messiah (Christ) speaking to the our ancient fathers by the prophets, we conclude that the words spoken, the messages sent, were messages of liberty; messages if obeyed will yield liberty. And true liberty is salvation, and Yahshua is SALVATION (Matt.1:21)

Many did not believe Moses and the prophets, And so they did not believe in Messiah. The first error precipitated the last. And though one did rise from the dead; Lazarus, and Yahshua (Jesus) Himself....how many believed on Him?

And this, my fellow servants of YHWH; I submit for your study, prayer and comment; not as one who has apprehended but one who is of like faith and struggles in this life we live together on this fallen world. (Phl.3:12)

In our next study we hope to comment on (point 2 above) namely: Yahshua being appointed Heir of all things.

Again we invite your comments, questions, and observations.

TREASURE IN EARTHEN VESSELS

Treasure in Earthen Vessels is about the Treasure I've found in the Scriptures. And since Yahshua is the treasure in all of Scripture; then this blog will be about Him through the various prophets and events that have transpired in times past. (2Cor.4:6,7) And since we (the followers of Yahshua) are the earthen vessels; then this blog will also be about the knowledge I've personally gain from studying Him.

I'd like to begin with a favorite passage of Scripture found in Hebrews 1:1-4. I love this passage so much that I've committed it to memory and love to repeat it often. I invite all who read this blog to comment and share what you've learned in studying Yahshua as well.

God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by [his] Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of [his] glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

about Verse 1:

The very first knowledge I gain from this verse is this; That YHWH is the author of Redemption. This I've learned as a result of asking the question why is YHWH speaking to humanity? The answer: "God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself,...." "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

If YHWH (God) had chosen not to give us His only begotten Son than there would be no Gospel, no glad tidings no salvation.  Now we learn further that YHWH "at sundry time" meaning " by many times and in many ways" [according to Strong's G4181 definition of the transliterated word polymeros spake in time past (a clear reference to the Torah and the Prophets [OT]) unto the fathers by the Prophets. Since "the fathers" spoken of here refers to "father Abraham" and all the heirs of the covenant made with him; then all today who are in Messiah are also included in the family of YHWH and therefore we are sons of the "fathers" (see Lk.1:73;Acts 7:2;Rom.8:15-17;Gal.3:29) Those who lived before Abraham are here also including seeing that Abraham himself paid a tithe to Melchisedec and the former is greater than the later. (Heb.7:7)

About Verse 2:

1. These are the last days and:
2. In these last days YHWH (God) has spoken unto us by His Son
3. That Yahshua was appointed by YHWH to be the heir of ALL THINGS because;
4. Through Him (Yahshua) the worlds were created and through Him the worlds have been made eternally secure; seeing that " And being made perfect, he(Yahshua) became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;(Heb.5:9) (Heb.11:3) (Nahum 1:9);(Col.1:20).

I must pause at this point to share several things regarding such a sublime portion of Scripture:

We must approach these Scriptures with a heart of humility and prayer. In this manner we will discover that we are looking into the mind of YHWH (or from His perspective and not our own). Hence when YHWH says that "...in these last days" He is speaking from His point of view and not ours. Now YHWH has clearly shown us the things that will happen from the beginning. (See Isa. 46:10) Therefore to understand the end we must understand the beginning.  "But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day [is] with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. For a thousand years in thy sight [are but] as yesterday when it is past, and [as] a watch in the night."(2Pet.3:8;Ps.90:4) We know from Genesis that YHWH made the earth in six literal days; and on the seventh He rested. (Gen.2:1-3) He has therefore given man six thousand years to work and then comes the jubilee, when all the earth should rest.

"For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to [give] the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us"(2Cor.4:6,7)

To be continued.......
Please comment; I would love to hear from you!
