I Shall Not Die But Live

Shalom In Yahshua and welcome once again to this blog and teaching.

Today we will continue our teaching of Ps.118; studying out verse 17.

For my comments on verse 16 click here

I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.

In the previous post we shared a study on the voice of rejoicing in the tabernacles of the righteous. For more on this click here

Now we turn our attention once again to Yahshua and the Cross.

Keep in mind that much of this Palm is speaking of Yahshua and the Cross and the Crown of victory He receives as becoming the Captain of our salvation. (Hbr. 2:10)

But how can this Psalm be speaking of Yahshua and yet it says "I shall not die, but live? Did Yahshua die for us on the Cross? Yes. So what can this mean?

Here in this Psalm we see that Yahshua is speaking of death not being an eternal death as with the wicked. But He tasted death for every man (Hbr. 2:9). This is shown in vs. 18 "The LORD hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death."

So we see here that Yahshua was not given over unto death; but as pointed out in Hebrews two; He tasted death.

And what was the purpose of His life? "To declare the works of YHVH"

And should this be our purpose also?

Until next time......Shalom and Ahava In Yahshua.
