Lift Up Your Heads

Shalom In Yahshua and welcome once again to this blog and teaching.

Today we will continue our teaching of Ps.118; studying out verse 19.

For our previous post click here

Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, [and] I will praise the LORD:

In the previous post we raised three questions and the last we answered first. Today we wish to deal with the other two, namely:

1. Who is speaking in this verse?
2. To whom is He speaking?

Let us first set the stage for this verse. Yahshua has recently arisen from the grave, confirmed His resurrection with His Talmidim (disciples) and meets with them for the last time on the mount called Olivet and while is yet speaking with them a cloud takes Him out of their sight. (Acts 1:4-9)

He is escorted by a retinue holy angels as He ascends to Shamayim (Heaven) itself to appear before YHVH for us. He ascends not as defeated, but as a Mighty Conqueror and all Shamayim are waiting to pay Him supreme homage.

The Courts of Heaven are fully set up with perfect arrangement for the coming Coronation of it's Redeemer. The angelic host are set in rank and file and all musical arragements are set in place so that when the King shall appear and enter into its halls the shouts of Praise and adoration shall immediately ensue.

As not to be out-done...the angelic host that escorts Yahshua to Shamayim are part of the program...listen closely to the anthems of praise as they near the Heavenly world.....

Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

Who [is] this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.

Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift [them] up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he [is] the King of glory. Selah.

And finally, as Yahshua nears the outer gates of the celestial Citadel He lifts His voice, and in musical tones, and with gentle, mild, and yet commanding authority speaks:

Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, [and] I will praise the LORD:This gate of the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter.

And as He moves through the peril gates the highest and joy-est enraptured praise ensues.

While Yahshua, like the Mighty Man of War that He is, walks, in measured step with the grand music, makes his way past the long column of all the leaders/heads of state from the distant sinless worlds, up and past the highest order of beings (the angels), up and past all the principalities and power and thrones and dominions, and past the highest ranking angels and now into the surpassing glory of YHVH'S immediate presence, where no man can look upon and live.

And there we shall leave our story.......

Until next time shalom and Ahava In Yahshua.

Open to me the gates of righteousness

Shalom In Yahshua and welcome once again to this blog and teaching.

Today we will continue our teaching of Ps.118; studying out verse 19.

For my comments on verse 18 click here

Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, [and] I will praise the LORD:

As we continue with our study of Ps.118 we emphasis the need to look; not only at the simple, but the Sublime. And who is the Sublime? Yahshua!

We admit, that this is a psalm of David and his troubles and pleas for deliverance. However, we conclude that David, in all his trials sought none other than Yahshua for His help and deliverance as we all must.

With this we turn to the verse under consideration and ask the question? Who is speaking in this verse? To whom is He speaking? And what is the gates of righteousness? This last question we address first:

This gate of the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter.

The gates of righteousness is (the gate of YHVH) the gates into which the righteous shall enter.

Two interesting points here:

1. In verse 19 we find 'gates of righteousness' and in verse 20 it is singular 'gate'. Why is this?

Firstly, the gates of righteousness are the twelve gates of the New Yeruslam spoken of in Rev.21 and how do we know this? because we find out in the Psalm that it is the gate into which the righteous shall enter.

Next, we find that more than one gate must be open because when Yahshua went to Shamayim (Heaven) shortly after His resurrection; He went not alone, but 'many bodies of the saints which slept arose and came out of the graves after His resurrection' Mat.27:52,53. These resurrected ones are the first fruits of the harvest, the first fruits of His power, which was typified here in the Tanakh:

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest:
And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it. (Lev.23:9-11)

Therefore, we see in the type a prophecy of Yahshua's decision to raise up many bodies of the saints (as firstfruits) of His resurrection. They, according to the type, had to be waved 'before the LORD'.
So we see Yahshua in (Ps. 118:19,20) on the very day after the Passover (spoken of in Leviticus), bringing before His Father ('the LORD), a sheaf of the firstfruits, thus fulfilling another specificity of the Torah.

And who was to wave the firstfruits before YHVH? 'the priest'. And who is our High Priest? Yahshua!

And yet the full harvest comes not until Yahshua, comes at the time of the Feast of Ingathering:

And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud [one] sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.

And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe

And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped. Rev.14:14-16

Chastened Sore

Shalom In Yahshua and welcome once again to this blog and teaching.

Today we will continue our teaching of Ps.118; studying out verse 18.

For my comments on verse 17 click here

The LORD hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death.

In review of this verse we see Yahshua once again.
It is in submission to  the chastening of YHVH that Yahshua was made perfect.(Heb.5:8)

This is a lesson that I myself am learning as I travel on The Way to Shamayim. It was recently that I was chastened by YHVH for something that I failed to do; which I knew I should have done. I was chastened in public! Sometimes we stubble and fall but Yahshua never did. It is for this reason that He is our only example in all things. (1Pe.2:21;2Pe.1:3)

The text under consideration informs us that Yahshua was not given unto death. How can this be? Click here for comments on this point.

In the final battle before us; the time of Jacobs trouble (Jer.30:7) many will be martyred for their faith (Mat.24:9; 2Ti.3:12) It is at this time we should call to mind the words of this text:

The LORD hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death.

I Shall Not Die But Live

Shalom In Yahshua and welcome once again to this blog and teaching.

Today we will continue our teaching of Ps.118; studying out verse 17.

For my comments on verse 16 click here

I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.

In the previous post we shared a study on the voice of rejoicing in the tabernacles of the righteous. For more on this click here

Now we turn our attention once again to Yahshua and the Cross.

Keep in mind that much of this Palm is speaking of Yahshua and the Cross and the Crown of victory He receives as becoming the Captain of our salvation. (Hbr. 2:10)

But how can this Psalm be speaking of Yahshua and yet it says "I shall not die, but live? Did Yahshua die for us on the Cross? Yes. So what can this mean?

Here in this Psalm we see that Yahshua is speaking of death not being an eternal death as with the wicked. But He tasted death for every man (Hbr. 2:9). This is shown in vs. 18 "The LORD hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death."

So we see here that Yahshua was not given over unto death; but as pointed out in Hebrews two; He tasted death.

And what was the purpose of His life? "To declare the works of YHVH"

And should this be our purpose also?

Until next time......Shalom and Ahava In Yahshua.

The Voice of Rejoicing!

Shalom In Yahshua and welcome once again to this blog and teaching.

Today we will continue on our teaching of Ps.118; studying out verse 15.

The voice of rejoicing and salvation [is] in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.

We already learn from Ps.118:10-14 that the subject of this portion of Scripture is Yahshua's Crucifixion.

We are now taken; by inspiration to the events coming next; namely "The voice of rejoicing and salvation...in the tabernacles of the righteous."

What occasion is Scripture pointing to which evokes rejoicing and salvation....and at the same time is concerns "the right hand of Yahwah"?

There can be but one answer....that is the completion of the great sacrifice made at the Cross!

So the next question is who are they that were rejoicing when the right hand of Yahwah done valiantly? (For more on the subject of the Right hand of YHVH click here ). We are told that it was the righteous. But when we look at the Crucifixion account there were no righteous rejoicing among the followers of Yahshua at that time. So what do we do?

Well the Scripture says that there was rejoicing 'in the tabernacles of the righteous'. What can this mean???

The word tabernacle in the Hebrew is ohel (Strong's H168) which means dwelling/home/habitation. So whoever they are who were rejoicing in the great victory of Golgotha they cannot be those of this dwelling/home/world.

Conclusion:

Therefore they must be the righteous from other worlds. We learn from Heb.1:2 that Yahshua made the worlds (plural). We learn from Isa.18:45 that Yahshua made this world to be inhabited. And we learn from Mal. 3:6;Heb.13:8, that YHVH changes not....He is consistent. Therefore all the worlds that He has made are to be inhabited with righteous beings.

Therefore we learn that the rejoicing of the righteous refers to those righteous beings who tabernacle/dwell/live on other worlds!

For those who may need additional Scripture please prayerfully read Mat.18:12,13 and ask yourself the question; who is the ninety and nine sheep who have not gone astray?

Until next time........

Thou Hast Thrust Sore At Me

Shalom In Yahshua Messiah and welcome once again to our series of teachings in the Tehillim or Psalms. We are studying the 118th division.

In our last study we showed; from the Scriptures, the dual nature of the prophecy contained in Ps.118:10-12. We learned that the dogs (evil doers or the assembly of the wicked) that compassed about Yahshua at the Cross are representative of the complete fulfillment of this prophecy which comes to pass in Rev.20:7-9. For more on this review click here .

Today we wish to continue in this fascinating study by studying closely Ps.118:13-14

Thou hast thrust sore at me that I might fall: but the LORD helped me. The LORD [is] my strength and song, and is become my salvation.

For those not familiar with these studies we wish to acquaint you with the position that Psalms 118; as with all the Psalms speak of Yahshua and His righteousness as it at the same time conveys the immediate contextual song/prayer/prophecy.(1Pe.1:10-11)

With that in mind we continue with our commentary on the above verses.

Courtesy of  KORE photos
Verse 13 tells us that Yahshua was sorely thrust at for the purpose that He might fall. Many trials and traps were set for Yahshua. Many of His enemies followed Him and hoped to ensnare Him and to destroy His life. An example of this is found in Lk.4:28,29 "And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath, And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong. The prophecy in Ps.118:13 says "the LORD helped me". How? "But he passing through the midst of them went his way," (Lk.4:30) (see Jhn.8:57-59)

In verse 14 we see that Yahshua would ascribe strength and salvation to YHVH; His Father. This we see here in Jhn.5:19,20 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. And again Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. (Jhn.14:10) Here we see that Yahshua ascribes His works to be done by His Abba. And in Mat.11:20-23; and Mat.13:54 this works are described as 'mighty works'. (See also  Lk.22:43)

And what about YHVH being Yahshua's song? And what about Yahshua ascribing salvation to His Father?

Until next time........shalom and Ahava In Yahshua.

They Compassed Me about

Shalom In Yahshua Messiah and welcome once again to our series of teachings in the Tehillim or Psalms. We are studying the 118th division.

In our last study we showed; from the Scriptures, that Yahshua is the distinguish Personage being spoken of. We shared many Scriptures which clearly pictured Yahshua as the 'Right Hand of YHWH'. For those who may not have studied the previous post, we strongly recommend that you do so before continuing with this post; as one builds on the other.Click here

In this study we will quickly review what we've learned from the previous one and than continue with : Ps.118:8-12.

REVIEW & ADDITIONAL COMMENTS ON PREVIOUS STUDY:

1. Since Yahshua is the Principal subject of Ps.118 let us now insert this understanding into the verses at hand:

Ps. 118:5--- I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, [and set me] in a large place.

When did Yahshua call upon Yahshua in distress which resulted in Him being set "in a large place"? And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.(Lk.22:44) Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:(Phl.2:9)

Ps.118:6--- The LORD [is] on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?

When; during Yahshua's distress/agony, did YHWH show Himself to be on Yahshua's side? And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.(Lk.22:43)

Ps. 118:7---The LORD taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see [my desire] upon them that hate me. Here, the understanding being conveyed is that since YHWH helped His people in times past, He will now help Yahshua; and to triumph over His enemies. (Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them. They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.) Ps.22:4,5  And here we see this promise embraced by Yahshua while at court-----Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.(Lk.22:69)

Ps.118:8,9---[It is] better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.[It is] better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes. When they which were about him saw what would follow, they said unto him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword? (Lk.22:49)Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be? (Mat.26:51,52)

Today's study:

The Place of a Skull Jerusalem, Israel--photo not mine.
All nations compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD will I destroy them. They compassed me about; yea, they compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD I will destroy them. They compassed me about like bees; they are quenched as the fire of thorns: for in the name of the LORD I will destroy them. (Ps.118:10-12)

When we study these verses and line them up with Ps. 22:12,16 we find something interesting.

1. We see that this prophecy has two or dual application.
a. At Calvary. And Ps.22:12 lets us know that, in this first application we look not for 'All nations' to compass about Yahshua and be destroyed; but 'Many bulls' or 'dogs' or 'the assembly of the wicked' compass Him. However,
b. At The Judgment of the Great White Throne in the final fulfillment we have all nations gathered as shown here: And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom [is] as the sand of the sea.And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.(Rev.20:7-9)

Therefore, we are shown the beauty of this prophecy which shows Yahshua, His distress/agony, His Crucifixion, His resurrection and exaltation, and finally the destruction of His enemies, as the central theme of Ps.118 and really it is the central theme of all Scripture for He is the King of Righteousness.

Interesting side note: I just now noticed that where it says "they are quenched as the fire of thorns"; that His enemies placed upon His head a crown of thorns. Now it says here 'they' 'the wicked' are quenched as the fire of thorns. Do you see any significance in this?

Blessed and holy [is] he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ,(Rev.20:6)

The Right Hand of YHWH (A Study)

Shalom In Yahshua Messiah and welcome once again to our series of teachings in the Tehillim or Psalms. We are studying the 118th division.

In our last study we contemplated the pure and elevated thanksgiving and praise that surrounds the Ancient of Days and Yahshua His only begotten Son. We learned what true praise and thanksgiving is and had set before us a model of what our praise, thanksgiving and worship to YHWH should be continually approaching. click here for introduction

Our attention is now drawn to the next three verses, namely: Ps.118:5-8.

I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, [and set me] in a large place. The LORD [is] on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? The LORD taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see [my desire] upon them that hate me.

Having the text set before us let us carefully examine them in the light of Yahshua's countenance.

1. Question: Who is it that is calling upon Yahweh in distress? Is it David.....period?
Do we have any clues or other relevant information in this Psalm which may furnish us with a solid answer?

Let us consider verse 10. All nations compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD will I destroy them. (11) They compassed me about; yea, they compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD I will destroy them. (12) They compassed me about like bees; they are quenched as the fire of thorns: for in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.

Who, other than David does the Scriptures point out as being compassed about by their enemies?

Many bulls have compassed me: strong [bulls] of Bashan have beset me round.(Ps.22:12) (16) For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet

Here is the first evidence that someone other than David is being referred to. This individual had the wicked inclosing them or encompassing them and their hands and feet where pierced.

Our next evidence we'd like to consider is found in Ps. 118:15,16:  The voice of rejoicing and salvation [is] in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantlyThe right hand of the LORD is exalted: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.

Here we find the term "the right hand of YHWH". What; or more precisely who is "the right hand of YHWH?

Psa. 20:6-----right hand =saving strength
Psa. 48:10-----'right hand=full of righteousness
Psa. 89:13-----right hand= strong arm
Isa. 53----------right hand=arm=He was wounded for transgressions and was bruised for our iniquities
Isa.53----------right hand =arm [from psa.89]=Lamb to the slaughter
Psa.98:1-------right hand=holy arm=victory
Psa.110:1------right hand=One whose enemies will be made His footstool.
Mat.26:64------right hand=position of power given the Son of Man
Mk.16:19-------sits at the right hand of YHWH
Acts 2:25------right hand according to King David=The Lord
Acts 7:55------right hand according to Stephen=Yahshua
Rom.8:34-----right hand according to Paul = Messiah
Eph.1:20------right hand according to Paul= Messiah
Heb.1:3-------right hand = Messiah
Heb.8:1-------right hand= High Priest
Heb.12:2-----right hand = Author and finisher of our faith =Yahshua

Therefore we conclude our second set of evidence.

The third and final set of evidence we look carefully and prayerfully at is Psa.118:16,19 &22:

The right hand of the LORD is exalted: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly. Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, [and] I will praise the LORD:The stone [which] the builders refused is become the head [stone] of the corner.

From the verses of Scripture before us we see the following:

1. The Right Hand of YHWH is exalted-----Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:(Phl.2:9)
2.  The Right Hand of YHWH is exalted-----Him hath God exalted with his right hand [to be] a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. (Acts 5:31)
3. The Right Hand of YHWH is exalted-----This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. (Acts 2:32,33)
4. It was prophesied that the Right Hand of YHWH will have the gates of Righteousness opened to Him at His exaltation/coronation-----Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.Who [is] this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift [them] up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come inWho is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he [is] the King of glory. Selah.(Ps.24:7-10)
5. The Right Hand of YHWH is also The Stone which the builders refused that became the head Stone of the corner.-------Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? (Mat.21:42) And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner [stone];(Eph.2:20) To whom coming, [as unto] a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, [and] precious,Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.Unto you therefore which believe [he is] precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,(1Pe.2:4-7)

We therefore conclude that the Right Hand of YHWH is none other than Yahshua the Messiah. And He; not David is the principle august Personage to whom the prophet gave witness.

Courtesy of others
We deem it vitally important to have this pointed out so as not to come short of any teaching that may not get  our attention in this passage (Ps.118). For the remainder of this teaching will hinge upon this very important central teaching; which is .......YAHSHUA the Right Hand of YHWH who brings to us salvation and strength and honor and riches and blessings both now and forever. For, He hath made us to be inheritors with Him; as He has received this commandment of His Abba and our Abba. Amein and Amein.

Psalms 118 (The Introduction)

Shalom In Yahshua; and welcome once again to this series of studies/teachings. We take our journey to the book of Tehillim (or in English) the book of Psalms. We hope to study in depth the hidden manna contained in the 118th division of this wonderful Book with the purpose that our hearts will be refreshed and our spiritual strength renewed as we eat the Bread of Life that came down from Shamayim (Hebrew for Heaven.) That we may obey His every command. That His wish may be our command. Amein and Amein!

We hope to use our previous post 'Which One' as a guideline in the successive posts.

For this series we will post each teaching with the portion of the  Psalm before us (in large bold green font). My comments will be written in large bold blue font.

Without further introductions lets begin this journey together shall we?

O give thanks unto the LORD; for [he is] good: because his mercy [endureth] for ever. Let Israel now say, that his mercy [endureth] for ever. Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy [endureth] for ever. Let them now that fear the LORD say, that his mercy [endureth] for ever. (Ps.118:1-4)

From the beginning it has been the greatest joy of all intelligent beings to be in the presence of YHWH with highest praises and esteem in their hearts and upon their lips unto Him. The dark glass is swept aside and the student of Scripture; with their eyes of understanding being enlightened (Eph.1:18), are enabled to see 'the exceeding greatness of His power'(Eph.1:19), as Elohim gives exhibitions and demonstrations of His 'mighty power'(Eph.1:19). The comments furnished here fail to convey the exceeding richness of His lovely presence and the greatness of His power.

Under inspiration of the Ruach Ha Kodesh {Holy Spirit} we capture the sight and sounds of thanksgiving and praise: " When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?"(Job.38:6) When we consider the preceding verse we learn that when YHWH founded the foundation and corner stone of the earth (do you comprehend that?)! The Sons of YHWH sang for joy. Lets look at this in detail.

After the Eternal God consults with His only begotten darling Son Yahshua, {for nothing is done without counsel(Pro.20:18;Pro.8:14;Isa.28:29)} they at once assemble the intelligent beings of the universes and declare the grand announcement that a new world is about to be created and a new dominion, power and principality formed.

And now,  in the silence of the onlooking universe; The majesty of Glory- YHWH; with the mighty Word of Truth at His right hand; and with the angels the sons of YHWH and all the universe looking on; summons the greatness of His creative power and begins creating this world. The exhibitions of Yahshua's mighty power is of such a great height and depth that all are amazed beyond their capacity to understand all that is transpiring before their very eyes. The only way they can give vent to pent up feelings of awe, reverence, love, and thanksgiving is to sing with all their being; from the deep depths of their being, the wonders and awesomeness of creative power then displayed.

Their hearts are energized and inspired with a deeper love, a deeper commitment, and a deeper loyalty to Him that sitteth upon the throne and unto the Lamb (though they know Him not {at this point} as the Lamb of YHWH which taketh away the sin of the world that they are seeing being created before them}. O blessed Redeemer! No one.............No one can by  searching find out His infinite wisdom.............we bow before You now and forever more! Here we see Yahshua creating a world that He will later die to save!!! Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this!

A More Excellent Name

Shalom In Yahshua and welcome once again to our study of Yahshua as revealed to us in  Hebrews 1:1-4

A Summary of the previous post entitled 'Yahshua Preeminent In All Things (Pt.2)'.

1. It was YHWH'S joy that Yahshua should possess All attributes of divinity.
2. The supreme title of divinity was still Yahshua's when He masked His divinity with humanity.
3. Peace between Elohim and man was made through the blood of Yahshua's cross.
4. We all were formerly alienated (estranged or shut out from YHWH'S fellowship and intimacy[Strong's #G526](Eph.2:1-3) and enemies of God by the wicked works of the mind  but now have been reconciled.
5. This reconciliation ( or harmony[Strong's #G604])has come about through Yahshua bearing the wicked works of the mind with His flesh through death; thus crucifying our carnal nature in His death, and thereby opening up the way for us (through the new birth and sanctification) to be presented unblameable and unreproveable in His sight.(1Th.5:23)
6.With the Plan of Redemption completed Yahshua will be subject unto YHWH.

Today's Teaching:
We will look at the last verse in this series; of Heb. 1:4

God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by [his] Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of [his] glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;  (Heb.1:1-3)

Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. (Heb.1:4)

In our study of this portion of Scripture it is imperative that we study it in connection with the whole counsel of Scripture regarding this subject. This is so that we may; with the help of YHWH'S Ruach (Spirit) and much prayer arrive at the right conclusion. As a matter of fact, any study of the Word of YHWH without proper preparation (much prayer and meditation) will inevitably lead one into a maze of skepticism, fanaticism and every other type of ism.

We need the Ruach to guide us. We need to be meek to receive guidance (Ps.25:9). We need to do YHWH'S will in what we now know to be right before we receive any new teaching (Jhn.7:17). We need to pray for YHWH to make us into new bottles so we can receive the 'new wine' teaching (Lk.5:37) We need to pray for wisdom and understanding and the fear of YHWH (Prov.1:7) If we do these things we shall have an abundant entrance into the deep things of YHWH and we will fulfill His plan for us, if we endure till the end.

The subject at hand, namely; Yahshua and His divine nature we have dealt with in some detail in a previous post click here.
It is not our intent to repeat what has already been stated regarding Yahshua and His supreme divine station; being the fullness of the Godhead bodily and above every name that is named in heaven and earth (Col.2:9; Eph.1:21). We wish to look at the verse in question with a view of presenting a few additional thoughts connected with it (Heb.1:4).

In the text above we learn:

1. That Yahshua 'by inheritance obtained
2. A more excellent Name then they.

We may ask; what is in a Name?
What is it in His name that makes Him much more better than the angels?

As westerners, we think of the naming of a child with greater or lesser thought. Some consult various name collection books/agencies for names which sound good, or a name which is more original, or perhaps a name which has special significance.

In the ancient world, in the time of the children of Israel, and even before, going all the way back to Adam we find great significance in naming of offspring. Throughout the Scriptures there a examples of this.

For example, YHWH named the first man Adam (Gen.5:2).
YHWH also named the last Adam; Yahshua Ha'Mashiach (1Cor.15:45; Lk. 1:26,31) YHWH also named Ishmael (Gen.16:11), Isaac (Gen.17:19), John the Baptist (Lk.1:13). Others where renamed by YHWH Abram to Abraham, Sari to Sara, Jacob to Israel, Paul to Saul.

The significance is as follows:
1. Adam which means red or man is the first of all humanity.
2. Yahshua means  "Jehovah is salvation" .
3. Ishameal means 'Elohim will hear'
4. Isaac means 'he laughs'
5. John means 'Jehovah is a gracious giver'

YHWH renames:
6. Abram means "exalted father" was changed to Abraham which means "father of a multitude" or "chief of multitude"
7. Sarai means 'princess' was changed to Sarah meaning "noblewoman".
8. Jacob means "heel holder" or "supplanter" was changed to Israel meaning "He has striven with God" or "He has been saved by God"

9.Paul means  'small or little' was changed to Saul meaning "desired".

From each of the above case studies we see that YHWH named in accordance to His foreknowledge of the individual or His plan for their life.

In renaming we see that YHWH renamed in accordance with their attainment in spiritual things or their conversion.

Therefore we conclude that names; as given by YHWH are significant of the individual life experience or character or indicative of some meaningful event in their life.

In relation to the matter at hand, Heb.1:4 and Yahshua's name meaning and significance; we conclude by stating:

1. That Yahshua's name means Yahovah is salvation. It's significance to us (mankind) is salvation from sin and death (Acts 4:12;Rom.6:23) It's significance to the heavenly principalities, dominions and powers means salvation from the exposure to Satan's sin, mans sin, and finally the memory of sin and death and the sorrow which it has caused.
2.
Yahshua, name above all names
Beautiful Savior, glorious Lord.
Emmanuel, God is with us.
Blessed Redeemer, Living word.

Therefore, being the brightness of His person and the express image of His Fathers person; Yahshua the only being in the Universe who 'by inheritance' [having proceeded from His Fathers bosom] in the dateless ages of eternity, is and forever will be, the fulness of the Godhead bodily, is unique and the only inheritor of the fulness of YHWH.

This completes this series on Hebrews 1:1-4 and we hope you've been challenged to study more of YHWH'S word for yourself to see whether these things are so.
We hope (YHWH'S) desire, to begin our next series in the 118 division of the Psalms. So please look up this Scripture and prepare for our next teaching series.

Until next time.........
Shalom and Ahava in Yahshua.
